Will Smith has hired a huge two-storey trailer to relax in between takes on the set of 'Men in Black III'.

The 42-year-old actor has parked the $2 million, 1,150 square feet, 30 tonne mobile home in New York City's SoHo district where he is currently shooting the latest instalment of the alien franchise - also known as 'MIB: 3' -- even though he is renting a luxury apartment less than a mile away.

The trailer's downstairs -- which has marble floors throughout -- comprises of a full service kitchen, lounge, movie room with a 100-inch screen and large bedroom and bathroom while the top deck of the massive vehicle, nicknamed 'The Heat', holds a bar and offices for Will's staff.

According to the New York Post newspaper, the actor is reportedly paying $9,000 a week for his new hangout while a second 55-foot trailer housing his personal gym is parked nearby.

Along with the luxury vehicle, Will is renting a five-bedroom apartment for $25,000 a month in Bond Street in the city.

A real estate broker who worked with him to find the apartment said: "Everything about him is excessive," adding that money was no object for the star who had an initial budget of $100,000 a month and requested a pool and private elevator.
