Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges is facing three felony domestic violence charges after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their two children last month, the Los Angeles County district attorney said Tuesday.
District Attorney George Gasc贸n said his office filed one felony count of injuring a child鈥檚 parent and two felony counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death. Bridges is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
鈥淐hildren who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable," Gasc贸n said.
Bridges was arrested on June 29 by Los Angeles police and was later released on US$130,000 bond.
The Hornets and the NBA both said they were aware of the charges filed against Bridges.
鈥淭hese are very serious charges that we will continue to monitor,鈥 the Hornets said. "As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.鈥
Bridges鈥 agent, Rich Paul, could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday night.

I鈥檝e allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life,鈥 Johnson wrote on Instagram. 鈥淚 have nothing to prove to the world, but I won鈥檛 allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I鈥檓 not. I won鈥檛 allow the people around him to continue to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person."
The 24-year-old Bridges is a restricted free agent who was expected to command big money in the free agent market this summer following a breakout season.
