The girl鈥檚 mother, Kristin Livdahl , saying she and her daughter had been doing some challenges from a gym teacher on YouTube as the weather gets colder, when her daughter thought to ask Alexa through the family鈥檚 Amazon Echo for another one to do.
Alexa responded with a description of the 鈥減enny challenge,鈥 according to a screenshot Livdahl shared on Twitter.
鈥淚 was right there and yelled, 鈥楴o Alexa, no!鈥 like it was a dog,鈥 Livdahl tweeted. 鈥淢y daughter says she is too smart to do something like that anyway.鈥
In a statement emailed to CTVNews.ca Tuesday, a spokesperson for Amazon said: 鈥淐ustomer trust is at the centre of everything we do and Alexa is designed to provide accurate, relevant, and helpful information to customers. As soon as we became aware of this error, we took swift action to fix it.鈥
The statement did not provide details on what changes were implemented.
