Samantha Pope
ContactSamantha Pope is the associate producer of the Canadian Screen Award-winning political program, CTV’s Power Play with Vassy Kapelos.
She joined Bell Media in 2020, first as a News Writer with 580 CFRA in Ottawa, then as the producer for its national flagship radio programs The Evan Solomon Show and later The Vassy Kapelos Show before transitioning to her current television role.
Throughout her time at ۴ý, she has covered major events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 federal election and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Over the course of her journalism career, Samantha has also written for Canadian Geographic, Canadian Geographic Travel, Maclean’s, the National Post, the Ottawa Citizen and elsewhere.
She graduated from Carleton University’s School of Journalism in 2021, with a double major in journalism and communications, where she was the recipient of the University Medal in Journalism and the Bob Farquharson Memorial Award for newspaper and magazine journalism. Her short documentary, One Hand Wonder, was also the recipient of TVO’s inaugural short-short documentary award.
Outside of work, she enjoys camping, hiking, painting, running, photography and attending concerts.
