Hundreds of people gathered at a church in Stellarton, N.S., today for the funeral of a young woman killed in her small community last month.

Up to 500 people packed into Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church to pay tribute to 19-year-old Amber Kirwan.

Kirwan was last seen Oct. 9 after leaving a New Glasgow pool hall and her remains were found Nov. 5 in a wooded area in Heathbell.

Tara Costen read a statement from the family outside the church and described her cousin as someone known for her "warmth, her vitality and her love of life."

There have been no arrests in the case, but police said Friday that they seized a 2008 blue Hyundai Elantra on Highway 6 in Caribou.

Police said the vehicle is being examined for possible evidence, but wouldn't say who it belongs to.
