BARRIE -- Britney Spears said she celebrated the ending of her conservatorship with her âfirst glass of champagneâ over the weekend.
In an shared Monday, the 39-year-old singer said she had an âamazing weekendâ adding that she âfelt like I was on cloud nine the whole time.â
On Friday, L.A. judge Brenda Penny terminated Spearsâ nearly 14-year-long conservatorship of estate and person.
In the post, Spears said she had her first glass of champagne âat the most beautiful restaurant Iâve ever seenâ on Friday.
âIâm celebrating my freedom and my B day for the next two months!â she wrote.
Spears also thanked her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, saying he has âtruly turned my life around.â
âIâm forever thankful for that,â she wrote.
In September, Spearsâ father, James Spears, filed to end the court conservatorship which controlled his daughterâs life and money for 13 years.
During a hearing in June, Spears gave an impassioned speech, describing the restrictions under the conservatorship as âabusive.â
She told the court: âI just want my life back.â
In the Instagram post Monday, Spears said it was a âsightâ to see so many people celebrating her victory.
âI love my fans so much,â she wrote.
Shortly after the conservatorship was terminated by Penny on Friday, Spears , calling it the âbest day ever.â
The singer shared a video of her fans dancing and celebrating the news.
âI think Iâm gonna cry for the rest of the day !!!â she wrote.
