HALIFAX - The Nova Scotia government wants to reduce the waiting list for home-care services in the Halifax area.

Health Minister Dave Wilson says the government will spending five million dollars over two years to cut in half a list that has grown to 265 people.

He says some people are waiting up to a year for services.

More than 22-hundred people receive home-care support in the Halifax area.

The government says 12-thousand receive services across the province.
