OTTAWA - Conservative Leader Stephen Harper and Liberal Leader Stephane Dion are taking the day off before hitting the hustings again Monday.

Harper spent part of the weekend in Nunavut where he promised a regional development agency for northern Canada -- part of the prime minister's strategy to get a Conservative elected in the north.

Dion is recharging his batteries after sharpening his attacks on Harper this weekend, telling voters they have a choice between Conservative gimmicks and a Liberal vision for the country.

He also accused Harper of secretly plotting to abolish the CBC and knowing little about the province's collective identity.

NDP Leader Jack Layton will be in Gatineau, Que., eager to get his message back on track after marijuana activists accused him of breaking an informal deal with the B.C. Marijuana Party.

Marijuana activist Marc Emery claims he raised thousands of dollars for the NDP and signed up new members in exchange for support for his cause of legalization - a deal the New Democrats say never existed.

Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe will be in Montreal today to participate in an AIDS charity walk, while Green party Leader Elizabeth May is kicking off her cross-Canada train tour in Vancouver.
