JERUSALEM - Police say an Israeli has been charged with passing defence information to Iran.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says the Iranian-born suspect, who by court order cannot be named, was charged today.
Rosenfeld said the man, who lives abroad, was arrested on May 8 after arriving in Israel for a visit and questioned on suspicion of having contacts with an Iranian intelligence agent.
He allegedly told Israeli interrogators he repeatedly visited the Iranian consulate in Istanbul and gave the Iranians names of acquaintances he said served in the Israeli security forces.
