BLACKVILLE, N.B - Some people in Blackville, N.B., are being offered free water testing after blood tests revealed higher-than-normal levels of arsenic in some residents.

Public health officials are trying to determine why "a limited number" of people have arsenic in their systems.

The village will decide who's eligible for free testing, although results already on hand suggest well water isn't the source. The reliability of the blood tests will also be assessed as part of the investigation.

The exact number of people affected isn't known.
