Welcome to our live question-and-answer session on a controversial approach some pregnant women are taking to deal with severe morning sickness.

CTV medical correspondent Avis Favaro saying it might be a safer option than prescription drugs.

Katie is 30 weeks pregnant with twins. She takes marijuana oil in morning coffee, as needed, in order to ease her severe and relentless morning sickness. As marijuana has long been known to increase appetite and reduce vomiting, Katie also says she takes it because she's concerned her twins could become undernourished during this critical time of their development.

Katie was interviewed for Avis's story and has agreed to take part in today's live Q&A, to answer some questions you might have for her.

Andra Smith, associate professor at the University of Ottawa, School of Psychology, has also agreed to take part in our Q&A. Smith conducted a study on prenatal marijuana exposure, suggesting it affects the brains of children with unknown long-term effects.

Avis will be taking part in our live chat and asking questions. But you can also leave questions and comments below for Katie and Andra Smith. The chat will last about 45 minutes. All questions and comments are moderated.
