After working on the six novels for years, J.K. Rowling has now joined with the Universal Orlando Resort to create a Harry Potter themed park.

Fans of the novels and films will be able to visit many of the locations  they have fantasized about from Hogwart's to King's Cross Station and even the Forbidden Forest.

The park, titled "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" will be situated in Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park and will open late in 2009.

"The plans I've seen look incredibly exciting, and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed," said Rowling, who has put in a conserted effort with architects and team members to ensure the park will resemble the vision she expressed in the books.

The team includes more than a dozen artists, lead by Stuart Craig, the production designer of the movies. The team has worked largely from the film's studios to recreate every detail, said Scott Trowbridge of Universal.

"We're really going to the people who know this world best to ensure that level of authenticity," he said.

The park promises astounding detail and breadth, as visitors will even be able to visit Dumbledore's famed office.  Some of the locales are taken from the final book.

Tourists outside the theme park spoke with anticipation stating that the Potter park would contain a high appeal to children.

"I'd go to Universal before I would Disney World to go on a Harry Potter ride," said 15-year-old Alex Moran, who was visiting Orlando from Pleasant Hill, Mo.

Brandon Wilson, another 15 year old from Pleasant Hill, said he has read every book and seen every movie, yet still can't get enough Harry Potter.

"I hope we get to simulate flying like Harry Potter," Wilson said.

The only thing that will be lacking from the park, according to Trowbridge are lookalikes of Harry, Hermione, Ron and the gang.

"This is Harry's world," said Trowbridge. "Most every fan wants to have an encounter with the star of the show."

The series has been translated into 65 languages with more than 325 million copies sold in over 200 territories around the world.

The seventh and final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is to be released July 21st; while the fifth film in the series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," will hit theaters a week prior, July 13th, via Universal Studios.
