OTTAWA - More snack foods have been recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency related to the salmonella outbreak in the United States caused by peanut products.

The latest items being recalled include Frosty Friends brand Frosty Cone caramel ice cream cones and Compliments Value vanilla ice cream cones, both in 12-cone packages.

American-made products being recalled are Attain 45-gram chocolate peanut butter nutrition bars and ProFlex15 55-gram chocolate peanut butter protein bars.

These bars were sold via mail order and direct delivery.

The CFIA says the products may have been distributed nationally.

There have been no confirmed illnesses in Canada associated with the consumption of affected peanut products.

The salmonella outbreak has sickened some 600 people in 43 U.S. states and been linked to nine deaths.

The CFIA agency has posted a list of recalled products on its website, as well as links to the websites of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Petsmart and the Canadian Humane Society, which list recalled pet treats.
