Get ready for some fast and furious bidding; the very last Evo for the U.S. market -- model number 1600 -- is heading to eBay where it will go under the digital hammer to raise money for Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

The Evo will go down in automotive history as a true Japanese performance icon. Developed for rallying, and improved over 10 iterations, the final edition comes as standard with a 303-horsepower turbocharged two-litre engine, Bilstein shock absorbers all round and Brembo brakes.

But of course, being an Evo, every aspect can be tuned or turned up a notch but as this car is so special, it could well end up being one of the very few Lancers in existence that remains in stock condition.

Once this Evo is sold, Mitsubishi is retiring the model and the badge. If it ever surfaces again, it will be to denote a sporty SUV.

The auction will start at 9 a.m. PT on September 8 and will run until 9 a.m. on September 15.
